Black Rock Forest Run
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 16, 2023 | 18 MILES
Run Wild, LLC is proud to offer the BLACK ROCK FOREST RUN. This 18-mile trail race is set in Black Rock Forest, a 3920-acre forest and biological field station located in Cornwall, New York. The forest is the home of the Black Rock Forest Consortium whose mission is advancing scientific understanding of the natural world through research, education, and conservation programs. Serving as the staging area and gateway for this event is the Hudson Highlands Nature Museum, a center for Nature Education and Nature Play. Together these entities provide the perfect setting to RUN WILD WITH NATURE.
The Black Rock Forest Run will immerse runners in the natural beauty of the Hudson Highlands leading them through some of its most picturesque and memorable spots. The course utilizes some of the forest’s roads but favors its trails. There are runnable sections, but runners will have to face a sampling of the forest’s hills, mountains, and cliffs. So, to be fair, runners will also likely WALK WITH NATURE in certain spots. But the reward for tackling these climbs is amazing views of the forest and surrounding area.
A portion of the proceeds from this race will support Black Rock Forest Consortium and the Hudson Highland Nature Museum). The remainder will go to support Run Wild’s mission of supporting land conservation. So, come accept the challenge of the forest, support three excellent organizations, and RUN WILD WITH NATURE.
